The full editorial

Day Trip Festival is Insomniac's Southern California house event, held on the waterfront beside the Queen Mary in Long Beach. It is a daytime festival that runs from 1 PM to midnight, two days, and the whole site is 21-plus, which gives it a different feel from the all-ages rave weekends. The booking is house and techno, with tech-house and melodic sets filling four stages named High Tide, Deep End, Amphitheater and Shoreline. The setting is the draw: ocean air, sunset sets over the water, and a compact footprint that makes stage-hopping easy. Because it is a dock-and-lot site rather than a park, there is no camping and no re-entry, and parking and rideshare logistics matter. The 2026 edition ran June 27 and 28 with a bill led by Gordo, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, Cloonee and SIDEPIECE, among many others. At the time of writing no 2027 dates had been announced, so the next edition is uncertain.
