The read

Our editorial read

Arizona's New Year's Eve festival at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale: two nights of house, techno and bass that run until 3 AM, with the midnight countdown into 2027.

The full editorial

Decadence Arizona is the Phoenix area's New Year's Eve festival, held at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale on Dec 30 and 31. The grounds are a NASCAR track, so expect paved walkways, covered stage structures and a straightforward layout rather than a forest or a campground. Doors are at 6 PM and the music runs to 3 AM, which means night two goes through midnight and into Jan 1. The 2026 bill (Sands of Eternity) leans on house and techno from Chris Lake, Disclosure, Eli Brown, Beltran and I Hate Models, with bass from Slander, Zomboy, ISOxo and Wankdat, the Crankdat b2b Wooli project. It is 18+, GA passes are contactless tickets, and Platinum is 21+. The crowd is broad: EDM Maniac put the 2025 edition at roughly 50,000 people over two nights, and the mix spans college-age bass fans and older house crowds. The pain points are logistical. There is no camping and no overnight parking, so you need a hotel; the raceway is car-dependent, public transit is limited, and the official shuttle leaves from Tempe. Entry lines were the main complaint in 2025 coverage, with box office delays of an hour or more. Bring a warm layer: December nights in the desert get cold, and the coat check is sold as an extra. The reason to go is the countdown: a 3 AM finish with a full production on New Year's Eve is rare, and the lineup is built for it.

Go if

  • House and techno fans who want a real New Year's countdown
  • Groups who would rather book a hotel than camp
  • Bass fans willing to split the cost of a raceway-sized production

Inside the festival

A big-tent New Year's festival: covered stages, a 3 AM finish, and a crowd that dresses up for the countdown.

A broad Arizona crowd of 18+ bass fans, older house and techno regulars, and groups splitting hotel rooms for two nights.

Worth it for / the catch

Worth it for

  • Three covered main stages and a 3 AM finish on New Year's Eve.
  • Free general parking and a compact raceway layout that is easy to walk.
  • A lineup that spans house, techno and bass across two nights.

The catch

  • No camping and no overnight parking, so a hotel is mandatory.
  • Car-dependent west Valley location with limited public transit.
  • NYE entry lines and a very packed second night.
